AC Shadows Reveals Surprising Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a unexpected partnership that challenges traditional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Revealed
According to the authorized release, "A strange encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where whispers of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying changes resonate through the obscurity." The storyline features a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who charges the duo with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden cult.
The adventure focuses on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Transformations
The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the captive, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Extra Features
Players who finish the quest will receive an unique katana in addition to several objects hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive implements
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Content
This release also adds the game's newest no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This playful adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks hardly the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with famous anime series. The series previously featured a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla unofficially included a quest that clearly nodded to the famous series One-Punch Man.
