Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Ex twice world heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making huge earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers participated in the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly happening.
